It's All About The Light

For me, apart from composition and colour, the light and atmosphere is the most important of all. To achieve that, one must practice outdoors more that anything else, not worrying about the looks when up close. When you step away from the easel and look at the painting from distance, than you can judge whether you manage to capture the essence of the subject.
